This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager, Developer Platforms in Washington (USA). This role focuses on shaping and executing the commercial strategy for next-generation developer platforms, particularly those integrating AI coding assistants and IDEs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structure and execute strategic ecosystem partnerships with AI platform providers, IDEs, and developer tool vendors.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, co-marketing initiatives, and GTM commitments to embed the company as the preferred platform.
  • Design and implement distribution strategies that drive developer adoption and net-new integrations.
  • Leverage technical assets to strengthen partnerships and create competitive advantages.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing and Engineering to package developer tools into market-facing solutions.
  • Act as a commercial feedback loop, providing insights from external ecosystems to inform product and business decisions.
  • Quantify business risks and build business cases for new product investments in the AI developer market.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or platform strategy within developer tools, SaaS, or API infrastructure.
  • Proven record of structuring and closing complex, high-value partnerships with measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Strong commercial fluency, including deal modeling, incentive negotiation, and alignment of cross-company GTM objectives.
  • Deep understanding of the developer ecosystem and its adoption drivers.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills to align internal stakeholders with external commercial opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading platform partnerships at major cloud providers, IDE vendors, or API-first companies.
  • MBA or equivalent commercial experience.
