Job Summary

The Head Start (HS) Education and Community Program Manager is a senior leadership role within the OSU Head Start Child Care Partnership Program, a $55 million, five-year federally funded initiative now serving 452 children and families from birth to age five. Reporting to the Head Start Director, this position is responsible for the full oversight and management of the education component of the program, ensuring compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards and supporting high-quality early childhood education across multiple service models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of key staff, including three Education Specialists, the Family and Community Engagement Specialist, the Professional Development Coordinator, and the Home Visiting Team Lead.
  • Indirect oversight of four Home Visitors.
  • Oversee partnerships with OSU Nisonger Center Developmental Specialists, nine Family Child Care Educators, and 15 child care centers.
  • Collaborate with community and university partners to implement a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate education system.
  • Lead professional development initiatives such as training, technical assistance, and coaching.
  • Ensure that Education Specialists are equipped to deliver effective Practice-Based Coaching.
  • Manage purchasing for the education team, including classroom equipment, books, curriculum materials.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of child development from birth to five.
  • Strong understanding of federal regulations to ensure compliance standards.
