Job Summary

A Licensed Practical Nurse (10 Months) provides practical nursing care to patients and clients under the direction of a physician or a registered nurse. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities. Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class may work rotating shifts including evenings and weekends. Work is performed in a clinic, an office or the client’s home where they may be exposed to illness, disease and stressful conditions. Work requires minimal physical exertion.

• Provide practical nursing care to patients and clients.
• Work under the direction of a physician or registered nurse.
• Maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and healthcare professionals.

Required Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a licensed practical nurse.
• Current licensure as a practical nurse in the State of Maryland or from a Multi-State Licensure Compact participant state.

Additional Information

• Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint must be successfully completed.
• All persons selected for this position must complete a mandatory six-month probation.
