Job Summary
The City of Fort Worth Property Management Department is seeking to hire a Real Property Manager in the Real Property Services Division. This position will report to 100 Texas Trail, Fort Worth TX 76102.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary decisions or recommendations.
- Maintain and manage the inventory of all City-owned property held in trust following tax foreclosure, including property upkeep, sealed bid sales and lease activities.
- Facilitate the acquisition, abandonment and, disposition of real property interest for the City of Fort Worth.
- Oversees the timely delivery of land rights required to support City infrastructure projects; and participate in public-private ventures through the acquisition of private property land rights.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, to senior management and City Council on the status of all matters related to the City’s real property interests.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration, Public Administration, Real Estate or other relevant field.
- Five (5) years of management in the public or private real estate industry.
- Two (2) years of direct supervisory responsibility.
- Valid Texas Class C driver license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in Geographic Information System software is a plus.
- Real Estate License issued by the Texas Real Estate Commission is desirable.
