This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Assistant Engineering Manager in the United States. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to lead civil engineering projects within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage civil engineering project tasks, including site grading, drainage, erosion control, stormwater management, and permitting.
- Supervise and mentor engineering staff, delegating work, reviewing calculations, drawings, and project deliverables.
- Develop proposals, budgets, and schedules while ensuring alignment with project scope and client expectations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineering leads to coordinate resources, QA/QC peer reviews, and project planning.
- Conduct field condition assessments, perform bid and construction phase services, respond to contractor inquiries, and review change order documentation.
- Maintain communication with clients, project managers, and team members to ensure project objectives and deadlines are met.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles to analyze complex problems, implement innovative solutions, and maintain ethical and sustainable project practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
- 5–10 years of relevant civil engineering experience, including project management and staff supervision.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred; reciprocity in multiple states is a plus.
- Strong understanding of current engineering principles, standards, and regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, analyze complex technical issues, and apply risk management principles.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
- Experience in proposal preparation, budgeting, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Proficiency in project planning, technical documentation, and QA/QC processes.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites or offices as needed.
