Job Summary

This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we’re developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin’s mission. We are seeking a motivated Software Development Engineer II to join Blue Origin’s team developing manufacturing automation and execution to drive efficiency throughout the factory.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as a fullstack-capable engineer to develop and support applications that enable manufacturing teams to efficiently implement, track, and streamline build processes.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance software development, improve automation, and drive innovation in enterprise applications.
• Contribute to the design, implementation, and deployment of successful enterprise-scale systems and services in support of operations and the businesses they support.
• Create quality technical and user-facing documentation.
• Recommend and implement improvements to Operational Excellence metrics (examples: system latency reduction, on-call remedy automation, and sprint task management).
• Take ownership, step in to help team members as needed, collaborate with team members to identify, and fix technical problems.
• Participate in on-call rotation for services supported by our team.

Requirements

• BA/BS in computer science, information science, or a related field, or equivalent experience in practice.
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience, writing production code in at least one programming language.
• Strong understanding of software development principles.
