Job Summary

We are currently looking for a Manager, Software Engineering. In this role, you will lead a talented team of engineers and testers to create exceptional software solutions for eReader devices. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering collaboration and innovation while ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that enhance customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading ~20 engineers and testers in three Agile teams, focusing on software improvements for eReaders.
  • Participating actively in technical delivery activities from system design through monitoring and incident response.
  • Providing mentorship and coaching to team members and facilitating their professional development.
  • Cultivating a collaborative atmosphere for authentic self-expression and reaching full potential.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams in Product, Design & Architecture to guide projects from conception to production.
  • Enhancing and evolving team processes for optimal outcomes.
  • Balancing immediate product goals, long-term technical needs, and team health.
  • Coordinating cross-team collaboration on larger projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within a Software Engineering team, preferably in a consumer device setting.
  • Extensive experience managing individuals, providing feedback, and conducting performance reviews.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, preferably in C++.
  • Familiarity with best practices and common challenges in consumer software product development.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent and advocate for technical approaches in strategic discussions.
  • Strong understanding and experience with project management.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
