Job Summary
The Systems Engineer manages, supports, and proactively ensures the availability of the university’s server infrastructure. They will be involved in maintaining and supporting Windows Server OS servers and ensuring security and operational standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive engineering support to all Windows Server OS servers by maintaining all monitoring, alerting, and security standards.
- Collaborate with other engineers and support staff to address challenges and plan projects throughout the year.
- Assist in creating knowledge base articles and needed ITIL documentation in alignment with university goals and objectives.
- Monitor and ensure that all Windows Server OS systems are consistently backed up and work with teams to identify the service level needs of each system.
- Assist in supporting the storage arrays utilized for virtualization with vSphere.
- Implement and maintain Windows deployment templates and IaC Pipelines.
- Deploy and support Windows systems, either on-premises or in cloud environments.
- Help to maintain Operational and Security standards on all Windows Server OS systems and any supporting infrastructure.
- Monitor and configure Backups, Disaster Recovery, and Archiving of all infrastructure, including servers, databases, applications, etc.
