Job Summary
This Part-Time Research Assistant 1 position is based in Prof. Jeremy Cooperstock’s research lab in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The successful candidate will be working on the NSERC-CRIAQ-funded ADvanced AIRspace Usability (ADAIR) project.
Key Responsibilities
- Support research on pilot information access and decision-making during flight operations by analyzing current cockpit systems and developing a baseline interface that reflects real-world workflows.
- Assist in conducting experimental trials using the X-Plane simulator setup to study pilot performance across varying speed conditions.
- Assist experimental trials by observing Air Traffic Controllers and/or pilots during testing sessions and take notes on their actions and decisions.
Requirements
- B.Sc. required, preferred M.Sc.
- At least two years working on R&D activities involving aviation interface design.
