Job Summary

The Space and Geophysics Laboratory (SGL) delivers multi-platform software suites to government customers for numerous applications, from real-time data-intensive network operations to standalone remote field systems, in both Linux and Windows environments. We are seeking a software developer with a solid understanding of object-oriented design, databases, and data structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs implementation from detailed design.
  • Designs and implements bug fixes.
  • Performs unit, regression, and integration testing as appropriate.
  • Work as part of a team to provide detailed designs for software.
  • Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or other applied sciences.
  • Experience with Bash, Python, or C++.
  • Experience with software or system test development and execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, evaluate, and support the development of large and complex systems.
  • Experience with various testing activities including test design, documentation, risk analysis, test automation, test results and reporting.
  • AWS Cloud and Kubernetes experience.
  • Dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, highly organized, capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail, effective problem solving skills, and excellent judgment.
  • Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science, systems engineering, engineering management, engineering mechanics, operations research, industrial engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with software development in Python or Javascript.
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Scripting with Python and bash.
  • Full stack web development.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with AWS cloud deployment, testing, and monitoring.
  • Experience with GNSS observation and navigation data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills within a team environment.
  • Previous or current eligibility for access to classified information.
