Job Summary
We are currently looking for a Manager, Software Engineering (L4) in India. In this role, you will lead a team of software engineers responsible for developing and maintaining scalable, high-quality backend systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of backend systems and REST APIs.
- Manage multiple workstreams and coordinate cross-functional initiatives.
- Advocate agile processes, continuous integration, automated testing, and deployment best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineers to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Ensure high-quality service delivery, operational monitoring, and end-to-end ownership of services.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and innovation within the team.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years managing and leading teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong technical expertise in Java/GoLang, REST APIs, relational databases (MySQL), and container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Experience with modern automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or Prometheus.
- Knowledge of agile processes and a strong emphasis on automation over manual work.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Experience owning and operating services end-to-end, from requirements and design to deployment and operational monitoring.
- Prior exposure to SaaS platforms, billing systems, or customer engagement solutions is a plus.
