This role provides advanced network engineering support across mission-critical systems, focusing on ensuring high-performance, secure, and reliable network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain network topologies, device configurations, and infrastructure for mission-critical systems.
  • Conduct network assessments, evaluate performance, identify gaps, and recommend solutions or technology upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot network issues, monitor capacity, ensure redundancy, and support disaster recovery procedures.
  • Support implementation of cybersecurity policies and ensure compliance with information assurance requirements.
  • Create, maintain, and update network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance to program managers and support acquisition, integration, and sustainment efforts.
  • Assist in network testing, validation, and life-cycle management, including wired, wireless, and virtualized environments.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for Top Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3+ years of technical/professional experience (DoD experience preferred) or 7 years of directly related experience, five of which must be in the DoD.
  • Strong expertise in network protocols, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, Layer 2/3 networking, and security technologies.
  • Experience with network monitoring, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Linux systems, Red Hat security hardening, virtualization (Vcenter, Vsphere, VMWare), and Cisco network design is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ITW/AA C2 mission systems, Link-16 networks, and Air Force training ranges is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively in high-stakes environments.
