Job Summary

We are currently looking for an INTEGRATION ENGINEER – HL7 in the United States. As an Integration Engineer – HL7, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless interoperability and reliable data flow across healthcare IT and medical imaging systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain system integrations using HL7, FHIR, DICOM, APIs, and related standards.
  • Support data exchange between PACS, RIS, EHR, dictation/voice recognition systems, and other clinical applications.
  • Configure, test, and troubleshoot integration interfaces to ensure accurate data mapping, formatting, and transmission.
  • Manage and maintain DICOM systems, routing workflows, and storage configurations.
  • Monitor and optimize integration engine performance, ensuring high system availability.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and internal data security policies.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide technical support, guidance, and on-call assistance to internal teams and external partners.
  • Participate in system upgrades, downtime management, and critical project implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, OR Associate degree with 5+ years of healthcare system integration experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HL7 and DICOM standards.
  • Experience with PACS, RIS, EHR, and other clinical imaging systems.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP networking, REST/SOAP APIs, and interoperability tools; FHIR knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and ability to occasionally lift or move equipment (up to ~75 lbs).
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI).
