Job Summary

A Business Process Analyst II position is available with the City of Fort Worth Fire department. This position serves as a technical resource responsible for administering departmental applications, developing scripts and programs to automate tasks, implementing new software systems, and providing advanced support and training to end users. This role bridges technical development and user enablement, ensuring that business applications run efficiently and align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain departmental software applications (on-premises and cloud-based).
  • Manage user roles, permissions, and application security settings.
  • Monitor application performance and coordinate updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Develop scripts and small-scale applications to automate tasks, integrate systems, and streamline processes.
  • Maintain and document code repositories, version control, and deployment procedures.
  • Lead or assist in evaluating, selecting, and deploying new software solutions.
  • Coordinate testing, migration of data, and system integrations.
  • Create and maintain implementation documentation, including configuration standards and best practices.
  • Provide support for departmental applications, diagnosing and resolving complex issues escalated from the help desk.
  • Liaise with vendors for bug fixes and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Monitor application logs and proactively address performance or stability issues.
  • Develop user guides, knowledge-base articles, and training materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Four (4) years of business experience and business analysis experience related to information systems technical work such as desktop support, application systems administration, database administration, platform system management, programming, or related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Information systems technical work experience such as desktop support, application system administration, database administration, platform system management, and programming.
  • Software application administration experience.
  • Software system implementation experience.
  • Experience writing queries in SQL.
