The University of Texas at Austin’s Planning, Design and Construction team seeks a Carpenter to serve in our Carpentry Shop. Job Summary
Provide journey-level skills in Carpentry work in support of campus facility renovation and repair projects. Also support campus special events.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rough and finish carpentry in the renovation and repair of campus facilities, including selective demolition, framing, alteration, and repair of floors, ceilings, roofs, walls, and related structures.
- Provide support to facility renovation, repair, and construction projects in compliance with project documents and schedules.
- Select, order, and cut materials as appropriate to meet project requirements.
- Assemble and install suspended ceilings, doors, windows, cabinets, trim, and associated hardware.
- Safely utilize all standard tools of the trade.
- Mortise doors; install locksets and exit hardware for mechanical and electronically-controlled doors.
