Job Title: Communications Student Assistant

Department: FAES | Center for Lake Erie Area Research-JM

• Conducts interviews and researches subjects for article development as sole author or in cooperation with other authors for newsletters and/or website
• Creates educational text for display panels for the public on topics like harmful algal blooms, pharmaceuticals in the water, wetlands and aquaculture
• Develops news releases on program research and events for public awareness and promotion
• Assists in the development of publication graphics and layout with graphic designer
• Helps to write short scripts for YouTube researcher summaries
• Develops brochures, fact sheets, and posters covering outreach programming
• Creates social media posts on program research and outreach
• Updates media lists and publication database

Additional Information: Please submit 3 writing samples, preferably examples of a press release and science writing.
