Job Summary
As an Assistant Delicatessen Manager, this position will be responsible for assisting Department Manager to present the freshest most innovative and best quality products at a competitive retail price to customers. Additionally, you will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
- Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner.
- Assists customers by escorting them to the products they’re looking for, loading or unloading heavy items, and making note of customer suggestions.
- Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers.
- Checks orders for the day and sets up a timeline and production schedule.
- Ensures department standards are met and prepares product for display.
- Promotes and coordinates catering.
- Trains new employees and handles customer issues.
- Maintains cleanliness and adheres to sanitation procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to work night and weekend shifts.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to train and manage part-time crew.
