Job Summary
We’re looking for a Digital Accessibility Specialist to ensure our digital products and content meet the highest accessibility standards and ADA compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct accessibility audits of Melio’s web applications using AXE and manual testing.
- Document accessibility issues clearly and provide actionable remediation steps for developers and designers.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to embed accessibility into components and workflows from the start.
- Join customer and partner calls to align on accessibility expectations and advise on best practices.
- Provide training sessions and hands-on guidance for colleagues across product, design, and engineering.
- Review and remediate supporting digital content (documents, videos, PDFs) to meet accessibility standards.
- Stay current with evolving accessibility regulations and translate them into clear policies and guidelines for Melio.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 AA standards and ADA compliance.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, ARIA roles, and accessible component design.
- Hands-on experience with accessibility testing using AXE and assistive technologies.
- Skilled in issue documentation and process management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with AI-based accessibility tools for alt text, captions, and transcripts.
- Background in web development, UX design, or digital product accessibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in fintech or with financial institutions.
- Familiarity with enterprise-scale design systems and component-level accessibility.
- Knowledge of ADA Title III requirements and other U.S. accessibility regulations.
- Experience running cross-functional accessibility workshops.
- Understanding of international accessibility standards.
