This role provides an opportunity to lead a high-performing team of Android engineers developing a performance-critical mobile SDK used by millions of users daily. You will act as the bridge between product vision, engineering execution, and applied research, ensuring the SDK remains reliable, scalable, and privacy-first.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Android engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning to support team growth.
  • Define hiring needs and partner with recruiting to attract and retain top engineering talent.
  • Own the technical vision and roadmap for the Android SDK, ensuring high performance, low-latency, and minimal resource usage.
  • Make architecture and design decisions to support new features, ad delivery, real-time targeting, and data collection while maintaining privacy-first principles.
  • Establish development best practices, including testing, code review, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with product managers and applied scientists to integrate machine learning models and predictive logic into the SDK.
  • Serve as the technical liaison with OEM partners for SDK integration, feature deployment, and performance monitoring.

Requirements

  • 3+ years managing a software engineering team with a focus on mentorship and performance management.
  • 7+ years of software development experience, with deep expertise in Android platform development (Java/Kotlin).
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying high-volume, performance-critical SDKs or mobile libraries.
  • Strong understanding of Android architecture, OS behavior, battery optimization, and threading models.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, anticipate technical risks, and deliver complex software releases on time.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to convey technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work hybrid or fully remote from select U.S. locations; no relocation or visa sponsorship available.
