Job Summary

We are currently looking for an Engineering Manager, Search in United States. This role is a leadership opportunity for an experienced engineering manager to build, grow, and mentor a high-performing remote team focused on a cutting-edge search product.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional team of software engineers, fostering technical excellence and high-performance collaboration.
• Oversee the design, development, testing, and maintenance of distributed search and data processing systems.
• Establish and enforce best practices for coding, system design, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
• Collaborate with product management and operations teams to refine, prioritize, and execute the Search product roadmap.
• Align engineering efforts with customer needs to ensure high-quality deliverables that delight users.
• Drive cross-team coordination and alignment with other engineering initiatives to maintain consistency across the broader platform.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and innovation within the team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of industry experience, including at least 4 years in a technical leadership role managing high-performing engineering teams.
• Proven experience in building, scaling, and leading remote or distributed teams of engineers.
• Deep expertise in high-scale, distributed systems architecture and high-volume data processing.
• Familiarity with observability tools and technologies, either as a user or developer.
• Hands-on experience building applications with Node.js; TypeScript experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in Agile development environments and working with cross-functional teams.
