Job Summary
Provide training, curriculum development, and compliance assistance for the University of Texas Health Safety Training Center (HSTC) in support of both grant-funded Mine Safety Health Administration (MSHA) and self-supporting training programs in the Heath, Safety, & Environment (HSE) areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, coordinate, conduct, and evaluate full day and multiple day training programs both on-site at university locations and off-site at client locations.
- Travel to various intrastate and interstate locations.
- Review and develop training curriculum, exercises, techniques, and materials for safety programs.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities.
- Keep abreast of new developments in Mine safety and health, and training and development.
- Handle inquiries from clients concerning safety training and assist with creating MSHA approved training plans for clients.
- Verify training plans of clients prior to their training.
- Conduct training needs analysis.
- Present at safety councils and conferences throughout the state of Texas while promoting HSTC.
- Attend and work closely with MSHA officials at Mine Rescue events.
- Conduct compliance assistance visits and technical assistance to mine operators and associated industries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with five years of experience in a related field.
- Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) approved instructor or within firm.
