Job Summary

An IT Solutions Architect position is available with the City of Fort Worth IT Solutions’ Platform Technologies Division (Infrastructure Team). This Architect position is responsible for designing and guiding the overall architecture of enterprise technology solutions, ensuring they align with organizational strategy and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and select technologies, frameworks, and platforms to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business, development, and operations teams to translate requirements into practical, sustainable designs.
• Set standards, best practices, and governance models to ensure interoperability and long-term maintainability.
• Design and present complex architectures to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, management information systems, business or a related field.
• Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in an applicable field.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Candidate selected for hire must pass a Criminal Background Check for CJIS.

Preferred Qualifications

• VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) or VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX).
• Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Security certifications like CISSP, CISM, or GIAC.
• Storage certifications (e.g., Pure Storage, NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE).
