Job Summary

An IT Solutions Architect position is available with the City of Fort Worth IT Solutions’ Platform Technologies Division (Infrastructure Team). This Architect position is responsible for designing and guiding the overall architecture of enterprise technology solutions, ensuring they align with organizational strategy and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and select technologies, frameworks, and platforms to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business, development, and operations teams to translate requirements into practical, sustainable designs.
• Set standards, best practices, and governance models to ensure interoperability and long-term maintainability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business or a related field.
• Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience designing and implementing virtualization, storage, and hybrid cloud solutions.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Candidate selected for hire must pass a CJIS background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) or VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX).
• Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Security certifications like CISSP, CISM, or GIAC.
• Storage certifications (e.g., Pure Storage, NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE).
• Proven experience designing and supporting hybrid cloud architectures, integrating on-premises infrastructure with public cloud platforms.
