Job Summary

We are currently looking for a Machine Learning & Coding Expert (SME) in Romania. In this role, you will provide specialized expertise in software engineering and machine learning to ensure high-quality delivery of domain-specific AI training data projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define project-specific technical standards, QA rubrics, and reference materials for machine learning and coding projects.
  • Review project outputs, including code annotations and model configurations, flagging defects and providing actionable remediation guidance.
  • Conduct structured quality assurance passes on deliverables, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with client specifications.
  • Advise on technical tools, frameworks, workflows, and edge-case solutions to optimize project outcomes.
  • Participate in contractor vetting, assessing technical skills, and providing targeted feedback for performance improvement.
  • Support project scoping, technical requirements, and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Curate “gold standard” libraries of code, scripts, and dataset annotations for training and calibration purposes.
  • Build dashboards and track defect trends to identify improvement areas and enhance future project efficiency.
  • Contribute to post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and refine technical standards.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of professional experience in software engineering, machine learning, or data science.
  • Deep proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, C++, or Java) and hands-on experience with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
  • Proven ability to set, enforce, and maintain high technical standards in code quality and ML workflows.
  • Experience producing technical documentation, quality rubrics, and training resources.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and consistency.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of delivering clear technical guidance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently within defined project timelines and scope.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
