Job Summary

A Mechanical Maintenance Technician Supervisor II directs the supervision of mechanical maintenance and repair activities at a water or wastewater treatment plant or pumping station and integrates and coordinates these maintenance functions with those of other related disciplines. Work of this class involves directing the activities of mechanical maintenance work units. Incumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek, subject to 24-hour callback for emergencies. Work is performed in a water or wastewater treatment plant or pumping station where there may be occasional exposure to chemicals, dusts and fumes, moving equipment, extremes of heat and cold and noxious odors. Work may require moderate physical exertion.

  • Direct the supervision of mechanical maintenance and repair activities.
  • Integrate and coordinate maintenance functions with related disciplines.
  • Direct activities of mechanical maintenance work units.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate.
  • Five years of experience in the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment and related systems, including two years of supervisory responsibilities.
  • Valid Maryland class C Noncommercial driver’s license, or an equivalent out-of-state driver’s license.
