Job Summary
Project manager for National Security applications in the Advanced Technology Laboratory of Applied Research Laboratories.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop project documentation and systems engineering artifacts.
- Project coordination with sponsors, development staff, and campus departments.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Plan and execute research, development, evaluation, and testing activities.
- Develop system concepts and proposals.
- Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Three years or more experience in related engineering, military, policy, legal, or other related field.
- Three years or more experience in project or program management.
- Significant experience in military applications or direct military experience.
- Demonstrated strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to conduct strategic planning and coordinate issue resolution or affect change within military, intelligence community, or other Government channels.
- Strong writing and presentation skills.
- Dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, highly organized, capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks.
- Ability to accept and incorporate feedback, and manage time effectively.
- Attention to detail, effective problem solving, sound engineering judgment, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and with sensitive and confidential information.
- Maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision, and effectively communicate with all groups of clients.
- Ability to work under pressure and accept supervision with regular and punctual attendance.
- US Citizen is required.
- Subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior military experience at a leadership level.
- Knowledge of legal, policy, and other matters of authority related to national security applications.
- Experience working with law enforcement, intelligence community, or lawmakers.
- Experience in electrical, software, or mechanical engineering.
- Experience with model-based system architecture or model-based systems engineering.
- Experience acting as a technical lead or in project management.
- Understanding of software engineering processes and standards.
