Job Summary
The Space and Geophysics Laboratory (SGL) delivers multi-platform software suites to government customers for numerous applications, from real-time data-intensive network operations to standalone remote field systems, in both Linux and Windows environments. We are seeking a software developer with a solid understanding of object-oriented design, databases, and data structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs implementation from detailed design.
- Designs and implements bug fixes.
- Performs unit, regression, and integration testing as appropriate.
- Work as part of a team to provide detailed designs for software.
- Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or other applied sciences.
- Experience with Bash, Python, or C++.
- Experience with software or system test development and execution.
- Demonstrated ability to design, develop, evaluate, and support the development of large and complex systems.
- Experience with various testing activities including test design, documentation, risk analysis, test automation, test results and reporting.
- AWS Cloud and Kubernetes experience.
- Dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, highly organized, capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks.
- Attention to detail, effective problem solving skills, and excellent judgment.
- Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- US Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in computer science, systems engineering, engineering management, engineering mechanics, operations research, industrial engineering, or related field.
- Experience with software development in Python or Javascript.
- Experience with Linux.
- Scripting with Python and bash.
- Full stack web development.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with AWS cloud deployment, testing, and monitoring.
- Experience with GNSS observation and navigation data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills within a team environment.
- Previous or current eligibility for access to classified information.
