Job Summary
The NeuroEpigenomics lab of Dr. Zhuzhu Zhang at the University of Chicago is looking for a highly motivated research technician who is interested in neurobiology and genomics. Zhang lab focuses on the epigenomic and gene regulatory mechanisms that shape brain function, both during normal postnatal development and in response to environmental challenges, such as stress and exposure to substances of abuse, using cutting-edge single-cell multi-omics, neuroscience, and computational approaches. This full-time research technician position will support projects investigating gene regulation and epigenomic mechanisms in the brain. The technician will be involved in molecular biology experiments including single-cell genomics studies, as well as mouse handling and surgical procedures. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge genomics and neuroscience research.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform genomics experiments, including molecular cloning, sample preparation and library construction for bulk and single-cell transcriptomics and epigenomics sequencing.
- Assist with mouse husbandry, surgery, and tissue dissection.
- Maintain detailed lab records and contribute to lab organization and protocol development.
