Job Summary

We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer in Europe. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge, cloud-native systems that process massive volumes of data daily.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Rust and Scala using modern frameworks like ZIO.
• Build and operate distributed, data-intensive applications ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain systems on Kubernetes within AWS environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions.
• Participate in architectural decisions, code reviews, and best practice adoption for backend systems.
• Optimize systems for operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness at scale.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while maintaining service availability and reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Minimum 2 years of production experience developing and operating Rust-based systems.
• Strong experience with distributed databases and data-intensive applications.
• Proven expertise in deploying and managing systems on Kubernetes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Scala, functional programming (ZIO or Cats Effect), and ClickHouse in production.
• Located in Europe due to time zone alignment and regional market focus.
