As a Senior AI Platform engineer at Vanta, you will play a crucial role in shaping Vanta’s AI offerings, improving our systems, and setting the long-term technical strategy for our end-to-end AI architecture. You’ll be part of the core AI team, working alongside a multidisciplinary group of product engineers, machine learning engineers, product managers, and security and compliance experts to implement, scale, and maintain pipelines and systems that accelerate AI innovations. In this role, you’ll build solid infrastructure foundations and high-leverage AI developer tools that empower Vanta’s AI engineers to effectively deliver high-quality AI products.

What you’ll do on the AI Platform team at Vanta:

• Team up with AI product engineering teams to deliver foundational AI solutions that enable speedy creation of AI-powered features and deliver customer value
• Work closely with other engineers at Vanta to understand their pain points in AI development and AI evaluation while identifying opportunities for improvements
• Design, build, and improve AI infrastructure and tooling to unblock product strategy
• Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation
• Set an example for effective, collaborative engineering culture, and help mentor junior team members

How to be successful in this role:

• At least 5 years of industry experience as a software engineer
• You have knowledge in designing, developing, and deploying AI applications leveraging LLM models and systems, with a strong focus on quality and evaluation, prompt engineering, vector stores, RAG, and agentic frameworks
• You have experience designing, building, and scaling internal development tools and systems
