Purpose: The Co-op Program Coordinator is responsible for the management of the Cooperative Engineering Education Program which includes course facilitation, grading, student tracking, employer relations, marketing, and more. Additionally, this position will serve as a career advisor for the Engineering Career Assistance Center, delivering first-rate career services for Cockrell School of Engineering students and alumni.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the enrollment, assignment of coursework, and grading for three co-op cohorts at any given time
  • Promote co-op program and opportunities to students via digital/paper media and information sessions
  • Recruit employer partners to offer co-op positions and grow the size of the program
  • Collaborate with multiple campus partners, staff, and faculty to ensure seamless transition of students from school to work and vice versa
  • Conduct individual advising sessions to help students/alumni make informed career decisions and to aid in preparation of job application materials
  • Deliver career workshops and topical outreach presentations to general and targeted student populations
  • Facilitate a First-Year or Transfer-Year Interest group with the aid of a student mentor by sharing school resources and ease students to campus life
  • Assist with logistical and administrative details for career fairs, office-related events, and departmental events
  • Produce marketing, promotional materials, and social media content for owned programs
