Department Overview

The Core Platforms & Services team is responsible for the development and operations of critical cloud infrastructure and platform services, in support of Motorola Solutions’ public and hybrid cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for public safety customers. This team is part of Motorola Solutions’ Software Enterprise division, which offers secure, reliable and efficient team communications, workflow and operational intelligence solutions for mission critical public safety and enterprise markets throughout the world. Our services leverage Cloud Computing infrastructure on Azure, AWS and GCP to build at scale.

Job Summary

Analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains software for the organization’s products and systems. Performs system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency. Develops, validates, and tests: structures and user documentation. Provide necessary support to our customers and partners during business hours. Managing system maintenance, and ensuring the security of our sovereign environments. Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, and maintain high standards for code quality and application design. Work across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth. Develop new features and infrastructure in support of rapidly emerging business and project requirements. Work with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices and pursuing continued learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains software for the organization’s products and systems.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java and Spring Boot using object-oriented design principles.
• A passion for technology and an understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams.

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice’s “Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy” and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
