Job Summary

We’re looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to help build the next generation of Mochi’s pharmacy software platform. This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of telehealth and pharmacy operations, where the backend systems you design will not just support pharmacies, they will set the standard for how they operate.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimization of backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that power pharmacy operations at scale.
• Architect and manage systems supporting high webhook traffic, third-party integrations, real-time scheduling, provider and patient management, and compliance workflows.
• Drive best practices in performance, security, observability, and scalability as we rapidly expand pharmacy operations.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Frontend, and Pharmacy Operations teams to build seamless workflows that meet complex healthcare needs.
• Own key architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and set backend engineering standards across the company.
• Ensure system reliability and resilience in distributed environments, with a focus on patient safety and operational efficiency.
• Influence engineering culture, fostering technical ownership and innovation within the team.
