Job Summary
Responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing merchandise for dining service and housing operations within University Housing and Dining (UHD).
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, tag, rotate, and properly store delivered merchandise, ensuring compliance with health code standards and University Housing and Dining policies.
- Ensure proper labeling and storage of products, follow first in first out (FIFO) guidelines.
- Distribute merchandise to internal locations operating pallet jacks when necessary.
- Assist in inventory as assigned to complete purchasing requirements.
- Maintain proper cleaning sanitation standards in the work area including freezers and coolers.
- Maintain cleanliness of the facility.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with staff, supervisory staff, and/or customers.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Complete and maintain required food safety training, including Texas Food Handler Safety.
- Follow work safety guidelines and utilize proper PPE as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduation, GED, or vocational school.
- Six months experience in receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for property in stores or warehouse unit.
- Six months of experience in stock handling and/or maintaining records.
- Ability to complete and maintain Food Safety Training required by University Housing and Dining.
Preferred Qualifications
- More than six months of experience in stock handling, maintaining records, receiving, storing, handling, and issuing food and food service supplies.
- Ability to multi-task and work with little supervision.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
