Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced technician to join our team, responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of plumbing and firefighting systems in commercial and residential buildings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both plumbing and fire protection systems, with a focus on ensuring the safety and functionality of these critical building components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on plumbing systems, including:
    • Inspect and service the water treatment, water storage; grease trap; and sewerage plant
    • Inspecting pipes, fixtures, equipment; and fittings for leaks or damage and proper operation.
    • Cleaning and maintaining water storage, drains; and sewage systems
    • Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and malfunctioning equipment
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of firefighting systems, including:
    • Fire sprinkler systems
    • Fire pumps
    • Standpipes
    • Fire hydrants
    • Fire extinguishers
  • Respond promptly to emergency repair calls for both plumbing and firefighting systems
  • Diagnose issues and perform repairs on plumbing fixtures, pipes, and related equipment
  • Ensure all firefighting systems comply with the Australian standard, and national fire codes and regulations
  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with other building maintenance professionals to ensure comprehensive facility upkeep
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in plumbing and fire protection systems
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or associate’s degree in plumbing or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in plumbing and fire protection systems
