Job Summary

As Chief Engineer, you’ll lead the efficient operations and maintenance of all building systems while overseeing and developing our operating staff. This critical leadership role ensures optimal building performance, tenant satisfaction, and operational excellence across all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. You’ll serve as the technical expert and team leader, directly impacting our ability to deliver world-class facility management services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct maintenance staff performance, including scheduling, job assignments, performance evaluations, and professional development recommendations
• Monitor and maintain all MEP systems including HVAC, boilers, electrical equipment, pumps, valves, and refrigeration systems while reviewing operational logs and performing preventive maintenance
• Coordinate with clients and tenants to schedule equipment downtime for maintenance activities and respond immediately to emergency situations and system malfunctions
• Manage construction and repair projects, oversee contracted maintenance work, and ensure timely completion of warranty obligations and equipment installations
• Develop and implement site-specific training programs for engineering personnel, providing hands-on instruction in maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques
• Maintain adequate inventory levels of tools and supplies, prepare purchase orders, and manage departmental budget sections while recommending facility improvements for annual O&M budgets
• Support meeting setups, manage work order tickets, and ensure compliance with hazardous materials storage and disposal policies

Requirements

• High school diploma with minimum 2 years in mechanical trades or equivalent technical education
• 5+ years of facility/plant engineering and maintenance supervision experience with proven managerial background
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, fluid handling/pumping, mechanical systems, and welding operations
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication abilities
