This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) delineates the policies and procedures of HireSleek (“HireSleek,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) concerning the collection, use, storage, processing, and disclosure of personal data. This Policy applies to any User (“you,” “your”) of the services, features, content, or applications offered on the website hiresleek.com and its associated subdomains (collectively, the “Platform”).
This Policy is to be read in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions. Your use of the Platform signifies your acceptance of this Policy and your agreement to be legally bound by its terms.
2. DEFINITIONS
- “Personal Data” shall mean any information that relates to a natural person, which, either directly or indirectly, in combination with other information available or likely to be available with a body corporate, is capable of identifying such person.
- “Sensitive Personal Data” includes, without limitation, financial information such as bank account or credit card details, passwords, and any other information so defined under applicable law.
- “Usage Data” refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Platform or from the Platform infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
- “Data Fiduciary” as defined under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), means any person who alone or in conjunction with others determines the purpose and means of the processing of personal data. For the purposes of this Policy, HireSleek is the Data Fiduciary.
3. DATA COLLECTION AND PROCESSING
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Platform for you.
3.1. Information Provided Directly by You:
- Account Registration Data: When you create an account, we collect your full name, email address, and password.
- Job Seeker Profile Data: As a Job Seeker, you may voluntarily provide additional Personal Data, including but not limited to, your phone number, physical address, professional work experience, educational history, skills, certifications, a personal photograph, and any documents you upload, such as a curriculum vitae or resume (“Profile Data”).
- Employer Data: As an Employer, we collect your company’s name, registered address, contact person’s name and email address, and details pertaining to job postings.
- Payment and Subscription Data: For Job Seekers subscribing to our Pro Plan, we collect data necessary to process payments. This financial information is considered Sensitive Personal Data and is collected and processed exclusively by our designated third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe, Razorpay). We do not store, nor do we have direct access to, your full credit card or bank account numbers.
3.2. Information Collected Automatically:
- Usage Data: We may collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Platform, such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, the pages of our Platform that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.
- Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We utilize cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our Platform and hold certain information. Please refer to our separate Cookie Policy for detailed information.
4. LAWFUL BASIS FOR PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA
In compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and India’s DPDP Act, we process your Personal Data on the following lawful bases:
- Performance of a Contract: The majority of our data processing is necessary for the performance of the contract to which you are a party (i.e., our Terms and Conditions), such as creating your account, facilitating job applications, and managing your Pro Plan subscription.
- Consent: Where legally required, we will process your data based on your explicit consent, such as for sending direct marketing communications or for the use of non-essential cookies. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
- Legitimate Interests: We process certain data for our legitimate business interests, which include improving our Platform, performing analytics, preventing fraud, and ensuring the security of our services, provided that such interests do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.
- Legal Obligation: We may be required to process your Personal Data to comply with a legal or statutory obligation, such as responding to lawful requests from public authorities.
5. USE OF YOUR DATA
The data we collect is used for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain our Platform;
- To manage your account, subscription, and provide you with customer support;
- To process transactions and send you related information, including purchase confirmations and invoices;
- To facilitate the core function of the Platform, which is the transmission of a Job Seeker’s application and Profile Data to an Employer upon the Job Seeker’s explicit action of applying for a job;
- To implement and deliver premium features, such as algorithmically enhancing the visibility of a Pro Plan subscriber’s profile to Employers;
- To notify you about changes to our Platform or any products or services we offer;
- To monitor the usage of our Platform and to detect, prevent, and address technical issues and fraudulent activity;
- To comply with our legal obligations under Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its associated rules.
6. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE
We do not sell your Personal Data. We may share your information under the following limited circumstances:
- With Employers: When a Job Seeker applies for a job posting, their Profile Data and any submitted documents are shared with the respective Employer. This is a fundamental component of the service.
- With Service Providers: We engage third-party companies and individuals to perform services on our behalf (e.g., payment processing, cloud hosting, data analytics, email delivery). These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect and defend the rights or property of HireSleek, prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Platform, or protect the personal safety of users or the public.
7. DATA RETENTION
We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies. Typically, data is retained for the duration your account is active and for a subsequent period of 180 days
for legal and operational continuity, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
8. YOUR DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your Personal Data:
- The right to access, update, or delete the information we have on you.
- The right of rectification.
- The right to object to our processing of your Personal Data.
- The right of restriction of processing.
- The right to data portability.

10. SECURITY OF DATA
We employ commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the Personal Data we collect. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
